Things we have learnt in a week in Italy

You don't need white lines on the road

The bigger you are the more right of way you have, same goes for the loudest horn

A car would be defected if it had no horn in Rome

A smart car can doesn't have to park parallel to the kerb

Hand basin taps work with foot control (learnt that one the hard way!)

There are no single sex toilets, it's all for one

You can be a tour guide and navigator all in the one breath

Manuel and Sybil are living in Rome!

Free wifi does not necessarily mean you can access it. In some instances you have to be within 2 feet of the computer to get it.

A mouse running in a wheel could power the Internet faster than it is available in some places

"apple" does not exist in Italy, yet everyone has an iPhone

No does not mean no to the gypsies

It is possible to shower in a phone booth

Something that looks like a tablecloth can pass as a bath towel

Hair dryers from the 50's still exist in Italy

Low tourist season in Italy does not guarantee there will not be a crowd!

Florence is the shopping capital of Italy!

Italians can eat 7 courses and still remain skinny

Lunchtime can be at 4 o clock in the afternoon You can still be eating dinner at 11 pm

Six o clock in the evening is considered afternoon

Coffee does not come in a paper cup

There is no such thing as no standing, even at a pedestrian crossing

Being a pedestrian on a crossing does not give you the right to cross the road

A stop sign doesn't mean stop

There are more rules in Italy than any other country, but very few of them are obeyed.  It's easier to go to church and ask for forgiveness

The tobacco companies rely on the Italians for their existence

Dogs are allowed in bars and restaurants

You can eat for the price of a glass of wine
